Army National Guard: 21x Lead Growth, 10-18x Below Industry Cost

The Georgia Army National Guard was generating 36 leads per month through a website that scored 4 out of 100 on performance benchmarks. The funnel had one generic form for an audience that takes 1–3 years to make a life decision. RC Strategies replaced the entire infrastructure — not with a campaign, but with GuardPaths, a purpose-built recruiting platform engineered on our PRISM orchestration engine. The result: 260+ qualified leads per month at $25.38 each, against an industry benchmark of $400–$650. Personalized journeys across 124 career paths. Real-time intelligence for recruiters and commanders. A system built for how today’s Gen-Z prospects actually make the decision to serve.

The challenge

The National Guard’s digital recruiting infrastructure scored a 4 out of 100 on Google Lighthouse — delivering a frustrating experience that lost prospects before they engaged. One generic capture form served an audience that takes 1–3 years to decide. No career exploration, no tailored content, no nurture mechanism. 80-90% of recruiter effort was spent on prospects who would never convert.

The outcome

10-18x lower cost per lead than industry benchmarks. 260+ qualified leads per month — up from 36. A purpose-built recruiting platform replacing a national website that scored 4 out of 100. Geo-targeted, fully attributed marketing funnels giving RRB leadership clarity and confidence down to the ZIP code.

From Broken Funnel to Purpose-Built Recruiting Engine

The Guard’s existing digital infrastructure wasn’t underperforming — it was structurally incapable of reaching today’s prospects. A national website scoring 4 out of 100 on performance benchmarks. A single capture form designed for visitors already committed to enlisting. No mechanism to engage the vast majority of prospects — the ones who are curious, exploring, or months away from a decision. RC Strategies didn’t optimize what existed. We replaced it.

We built GuardPaths — a proprietary recruiting platform engineered on our PRISM orchestration engine — purpose-designed for the National Guard’s mission. The platform delivers 124 personalized career path journeys, each tailored by MOS and interest area, capturing 20+ behavioral data points per prospect. For a Gen-Z audience that expects personalized, mobile-first digital experiences, GuardPaths meets them where they are and nurtures them through a 1–3 year decision cycle.

Our targeting strategy deployed geo-fenced campaigns across 159 counties and 973 ZIP codes, reaching 1.6 million qualified military-age prospects with messaging aligned to specific MOS vacancies and RRB priorities. Every dollar was accountable. Every impression was attributed. RRB leadership gained real-time dashboards with visibility from first touch through accession — replacing guesswork with command-level intelligence.

Recruiters received warm handoffs backed by full prospect profiles — interests, engagement history, career path exploration, behavioral scoring — transforming cold outreach into informed conversations. The platform scored 90–94 out of 100 on performance benchmarks, against the national Guard site’s 4. Within 90 days, the system delivered 780 qualified leads. The sustained rate: 260+ per month, at a cost per qualified lead of $25.38 — 10-18x below the $400–$650 industry standard.
