Military Retention Marketing & Surveys
how we serve your mission
Career checkpoint surveys
Surveys run at set points in a Soldier's career, from the first months in uniform through the period before ETS. They ask about expectations, family, civilian work, leadership, and benefits, and show leaders both the Soldiers who need follow-up and the patterns across units.
Retention reporting for command
Command gets a view of what is driving intent to stay or leave, by unit and career stage, updated as surveys come in.
Support for retention NCOs
Retention NCOs get lists of Soldiers to talk to and what each one said in the survey, so each conversation starts with what matters to that Soldier.
Benefit and retention campaigns
Targeted campaigns help Soldiers use the benefits they've earned, including education, health coverage, and state programs, and respond to the concerns Soldiers raise in surveys.
Family and employer outreach
Sentiment at home carries heavy weight in the decision to stay. Campaigns reach families with what the Guard offers them and point civilian employers to support through ESGR.

What clients ask before we start
What is military retention marketing?
Military retention marketing uses surveys, reporting, and targeted campaigns to help Soldiers stay in and use the benefits they've earned. RC Strategies runs retention surveys and campaigns for Army National Guard programs alongside its recruiting work. RC Strategies delivers two state ARNG RRB programs: the Georgia Army National Guard and the Arkansas Army National Guard.
Why survey Soldiers before they reach ETS?
The decision to leave forms months or years before a contract ends. Family challenges, broken promises, leadership, pay, and a Soldier's civilian life drive it. An exit survey explains a loss after it happens. RC Strategies surveys Soldiers earlier in their careers, which gives leaders time to act while the Soldier is still deciding.
What do retention surveys ask?
RC Strategies' surveys cover whether the Guard is meeting the expectations a Soldier joined with, support at home, conflicts with civilian work, leadership, use of benefits, and intent to stay. Questions change by career stage, since a first-year Soldier and one nearing ETS face different decisions.
How do survey results turn into action?
RC Strategies gives retention NCOs lists of Soldiers to follow up with and the reasons behind each. Campaigns address the issues many Soldiers raise, such as benefits they aren't using. Command sees the drivers by unit and whether follow-up happened.
How do you know retention work is working?
RC Strategies compares stay-or-leave outcomes at ETS with what surveys showed earlier, tracks whether flagged Soldiers were contacted, and reports reenlistment and loss trends by unit against the starting baseline.
